I have a Dell Dimension 5100 that runs Windows XP. I most recently tried to put a few files on my computer from my old Compaq drive VIA slave. Now the problem arose when I tried to start the computer back up. It said the drive wasnt found, so I went into the F2 menu to disable the drive. Then I went to play a CD later and found I have disabled my drives. The only drive that shows up is C. D and my other drives (Recovery) no long are on the list on My Computer. How can I re-enable them? I tried to go back to the F2 menu and enabled all the drives but nothing happened.

It may be to late but have you tried booting to "Last Known Good"? I would remove the Slave first.

Ummm....English? I apparently easily disabled the drives and removed them from the list on the My Computer menu, so I should be able to easily get them back on. And NO I didnt make recovery disks (I couldnt get a blank DVD). My diagnostic test says the device is working properly, I tried a rollback and it said it worked but it isnt on the list, nor is the drive for recovery. Just C is on the list now. HELP!

When your PC boots up hit F8 (like you want to boot to safe mode) and select "Last Known Good".
