Wanted to try out my PhysX card on an old game and disabled GTX 570 thru devices. The 9800 GT is a formidable card. Assumed enabling would be as straight forward as the disabling. I'm not seeing it...

    Can't figure it out. :-o

Have you tried looking in device manager? It should be listed in there but just and I think you should just be able to right click on it and chose enable. Just a guess though.

Thank you for the assistance Tueur.

I first disabled the device in the drivers tab. That interface is now greyed out. I was expecting an "enable device" to replace the "disable device". Much to my chagrin -- no love.

Try right clic on icon in device manager & it only gives me an option to disable.

I thought about trying to disable the 9800 GT, to force the GTX 570, but thought I might feel silly trying to explain that one. ('It worked so poorly on the GTX, I did it to the GT as well -- things got worse -- dark too.')

Been the bios, to see if anything jumped out, no love. No great hardship, running on the 9800 GT but, my GTX 570 :flip mocks me.

Try going into device manager again right click and choose the uninstall option. This should uninstall the driver and clear the settings to disable it. Click on the scan for new devices button at the top and it should re-install as active. You may get asked whether you want to delete the driver. Choose no at first and if that doesnt work then try again and do delete the driver. you will have to re download and install the driver from scratch though.

I dont think you should have to remove the 9800 as Im sure you can have multiple cards installed and active.

Thanks again Teuer! Things got dark. :cool

Ended up reinstalling drivers, enabling/disabling gpu 0 & gpu 1, restarting, scan for new hardware, and finally Afterburner 'saw' my GTX. I think I got a little complacent with Windows 7 -- used to things looking different than XP & didn't pay close enough attention...

    ...got punked!

Thanks for taking away that lonely feeling -- appreciate your assistance. :wave
