Disabling Autoruns: "Procedure" Question

    This may sound stupid, and I am aware someone may well give me a hard time about it, but I have to know - SPECIFICALLY:

    In the Malware forum, Chaslang has a post on "Disabling Autoruns" http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=186542.

    In the box where one is to copy the bold text, the very first part, "REGEDIT4" is "not" meant to be copied, correct?

    In other words (and yes, I can read, and know what the directions say, however), the Copy should start at "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE........", correct please?

    In-correct - copy everything inside of the Quote box.

    Hold on, it depends what version of windows you are running.
    You might want REGEDIT5
    I'm not sure if Windows 7 uses 5 or maybe 6.

    REGEDIT4 will work on all versions of Windows as far as we have seen.

    "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" is not accepted in some older versions of Windows which is why we commonly use REGEDIT4 in most patches in the Malware Forum. But there are dependencies on what is in the patch too. Windows Registry Editior Version 5.00 files use Unicode which will take up more space with extra fields.

    Hmm...all very interesting indeed, and while I am intending to use it in a Vista OS (which sounds like there will be no problem) I have already just now applied it in a WIN7 OS machine also...
