I use Windows XP, and have been encountering a problem in Microsoft word and access. Whenever I’m typing in either program my cursor disappears while typing. This problem has been occurring for over a month. I did a search online and found a similar post, and the repeated suggestion was to go into mouse properties and unclick the hide pointer while typing box. I tried that, but the problem remains. I keep my antivirus program updated, and use Ad-ware, and Spybot often. I also have Spyblaster and Spyguard running. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It has to do with the mouse settings. You have to make sure that the setting for "hide mouse pointer while typing" is not checked.

I assume you mean the text cursor (controlled using the arrow keys), rather than the mouse cursor. If so, I've found that the same thing happens for me in Word 2003. I was previously using 2002 and didn't see this happening anywhere near as much.

From what I can see it seems to be related to the fact that often the line I moved away from shows a cursor bar '|' where it was previously and now does not highlight where the cursor currently is.

Overall Word 2003 (even at SP2) seems to have major redraw issues compared to 2002.
