Can anyone suggest why I have to reinstall my wireless network card everytime I turn my machine on to get a signal?

If I dont, I only get a grey'd out box (appart from the cancel button) when I try and see availale networks (cant even get to the advanced button).

Once I uninstall and reinstall it all works fine and I dont have to reinstall the drivers from the cd so it cant be them.

I'm running Win xp prof sp1, on a jetway v266b Mb with plenty of ram and cpu to play with. The Wireless card is a bog standard Wireless LAN adaptor (cant find any manufactuerer details sorry) and its trying to connect to a netgear wireless router.

    Any ideas?

    cheers

Install SP2. Better support for wireless devices.

    Try this...

After installing SP2, disable any manuf-provided wireless utilities. Then go to Start/Run and type services.msc. Double click on Wireless Zero Configuration utility (or something like that. I can't remember exactly what its called.) Set the Startup type to Automatic, click Apply and then reboot.
