Disaster after updating Norton Internet Security

:cry Someone please help me! I updated my Norton Internet security with 2007. after doing that I found out that I couldn't run live update. Got the LU1814 error message. Finally got hold of tech support and they said that my Earthlink parental control was blocking it. So I deleted the program as they directed. after doing that I kept getting the windows installer to run trying to install the Total acess core applications, but it couldn't do it since it was missing TACORE.msi. I ran the windows installer clean up utility but that didn't make any difference. So I put the parental controls for earthlink total access back in. No more windows installer running perpetually, but my system is soooooooo slow. It atkes 5 minutes for each click. It was doing this as soon as I deleted the parental controls. Also, did talk to Earthlink support and they recommended doing the update for TA. Did that without change so I put Parental control back. I can hear the hard drive going perpetually.
