Due to a power surge yesterday, my IP/router has messed up.

My router IP and computer IP don't match which makes me disconnect every half hour or so. It's getting really irritating and I've tried everything to match the IP and it's not working. I have a Linksys WRT54G router and XP. Renewing/releasing my IP isn't working and I was wondering if there was a way without having to re-install my router.

what do you mean they dont match? theyre not really supposed to match. your gateway should be something like 192.168.0.1 and your computer should be something like 192.168.0.2

    what addresses are you seeing?

I usually go by 192.168.1.100, or 192.168.1.101. But now my IP is 192.168.1.103. On my router settings my local IP address is 192.168.1.101. I don't really know why I'm getting the disconnects but if you need anymore information to help me out I can easily give it too you.

Also when I try Port Forwarding, it keeps saying Invalid IP address.
