when i built up my new system, i alotted 8 GB of my hard drive just for windows and whatever files needed to be put on its same drive. well no less than 4 weeks later i end up using all its space. is there a freeware drive partition program out there that will allow me to re-partition without losing my data on the hard drive?

    slayer4567,

    Check out this link, http://www.acronis.com/mag/winxp-pe/

It is for PartitionExpert 2003 SE, the magazine article says it is free. There is a registration form to fill out and I haven't tried it but looks legit. Let us know.

    Tried that link Matacumbie.

Filled in the registration for the 'free' download. Stiil haven't found the download file as yet.

Turns out that the free version is limited although I can't seem to find what features are turned off.

Very confusing when you start looking around.

Edit: Don't think you can apply the changes. So what is the point of it????

The name of the download should be partitionexpert 2003. Don't know about the changes. Steve

Assuming you are using XP I am pretty sure that the OS has a partitioning tool already in it. Have a look see at the tools that came included.
I am no expert but seem to recall when I first installed XP and poked around inside it that a partitioning tool is there.
