disk read error occurred...

    :confused i have an asus eee pc 900a was running windows xp sp3. Got everything working on this and then it crashed with the message "A disk read error occurred press ctrl alt del to restart and it just does a full circle. have looked for the problem on the interenet and everyone says hard drive failure but this has no hard drive. please advise as i am completley stuck.:cry

    Hi,

    You do have a SSD hard drive in there. I am not sure how to fix the problem as it could be a bad HD or more likely file corruption. A reinstall of XP sounds like the preferred solution from a quick look around the net.

    Is the HD seen in BIOS? I believe that it would be F2 during the ASUS screen to enter BIOS.

    Pressing F9 as you turn it on will restore it to factory condition, provided the computer came with XP on it. (I had to restore my 701 once but mine is a linux unit).
