I have a total of 100gigs of hd, but on my primary drive i only have 20 gigs and its all used up. My computer pops up message that the hd is full and my computer gets real slow. I still have the rest of the memory on my hd unused and i dont know how i can use it. Particulary, how can transfer my programs to the remaining drives that have the rest of the memory without destroy my programs are saved items. Is there a way that i can move all the memory into the primary dive? Or can I just make the primary drive have more memory. I just want to have enough disk space on my c: drive(primary) without the computer slowing down. Help

Your use of the word memory is incorrect; you are talking about hard drive space, not memory. Memory means RAM.

I assume you're using Windows XP. If you save all or most of your data files in My Documents, first thing I would do is move My Documents from C to D. To do that, right click on My Documents, select Properties, click on the Move button and select drive D as the destination. By data files, I mean all the files you save when using word processing, spreadsheet, etc. If you have many of these files in locations other than My Documents, then move them also to D. You may want to create some folders on D to help you organize your files.

To move data files in locations other than My Documents, open two Explorer windows (right click on Start, and select Explore). In one of these windows, browse to your user/data files on C. In the other one, browse to D. Then, drag your files from one Explorer window to the other.

At this, point, I suggest you run Disk Cleanup and/or download CCleaner and run it. This will probably remove some unneeded files, cookies, browser cache, etc. from your C drive, thereby freeing up more space.

Now, so far, we've talked about freeing up space on C by moving user/data files from C to D and doing some disk cleanup on C. We have not said anything yet about moving programs from C to D. If you still need more space on C, select one or more programs, uninstall them, and reinstall them, selecting D at the destination for the installation rather than C. Do not attempt to move programs from C to D using the method explained above for user/data files. For programs, you must uninstall and reinstall.

Be very careful when deleting files. The following worked for me, but again be very careful. You might want to make a backup of the specific directories or files before clearing them out.
Close all applications. Download Easycleaner and remove temporary internet files and unecessary files. Then use Easy cleaner to find *.tmp and *.log files and delete those. In windows explorer go to C:\Documents and Settings\"your username"\Local Settings\Temp and delete everything in this directory. Reboot. If everything is working run disc cleaner to clean out the recycle bin.
Depending on how aggressive you want to be you can also delete all $ files from c:\windows and remove the service pack install files. Reboot after each step and make sure everything is working before cleaning the recycle bin.
No warranty expressed or implied. Good luck.
