diskette drive 0 seek failure

    when i turn my puter on a scree comes up and about 3/4's of a page down it says Diskette drive 0 seek failue and athe the bottom of the page it says F1 to continue or F2 to setup what do I need to do to fix this problem?

    Check to see if you have left a floppy diskette in your machine. If so just eject it.

    Chances are, the BIOS is configured to look for a floppy drive and to confirm that it's connected and functional. If you don't have a floppy drive (or it's not connected correctly or it's faulty), you'll get the error you mentioned. To get rid of the error you have to enter the BIOS. Many PCs use F2 to enter the BIOS, DEL is another popular key, so is F1, and on older HP/Compaq systems, F10 will do it. Anyway- once in the BIOS, poke around and look for a setting to disable the floppy drive. You also want to look for a setting that says "Floppy drive seek" and disable that too. Be sure to save your settings before exiting the BIOS.
