Dispalya error.......

Hey! I joined today to ask everyone here a question concering the screen resolutoin and amount of colors.....

She runs windows 98 and gets only 800*600 and 16 colors. . . its not the newest computer but should have the capability of having more im going to try and install widows 98 on the computer and see if that does the trick.. but if you have anyother oppinions on this please help!

Do you mean literally 16 colors, or 16-bit color (High color)?

If it's the former, that it is likely that there are no video drivers installed for the video card, so Windows is running in simple SVGA mode.

If it's 16-bit, then it is likely that her video card only has 1 MB of video RAM and simply can't display any more colors. She would need to upgrade her video card to get a higher resolution or higher color depth. However, it would not be advisable to spend money on a system as old as this one sounds (at least six years). I suggest you either make do or purchase a new system entirely.

 

Hey thanks for the input but i got the problem... she didnt the driver or the monitor correctly instaled only giving her 640*480 and literalyy 16 colors...
