   I drunkenly changed my friends screen resolution settings to somthing that makes it impossible to read on the monitor and obviously cannot change it back because cannot make out info on screen (I do not know what type of computer he has only that uses windows 98) I was hoping that there would be an easy solution before having to take any extreme measures. Any help would be greatly appreciated

   Boot into Safe Mode as that will use a standard VGA mode, it should allow you to either change the resolution or if you re-install the GFX card driver again it again should re-set the resoultion to default ( not used 98 in many years )
   
   to get into Safe Mode either hold CTRL down until the boot menu comes up or hit F8
