    Pros: None.

Cons: Panda and Bitdefender both picked mod_init (or whatever it's called) up as a trojan, NOT IMPRESSED.

    Not On the List:
There are a number of lesser-known anti-spyware applications that I have tested but decided were not appropriate to include on the "Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware List" above. These applications include:
    ...names in list...
    Disspy (#12 on the list)
    ....and so on...

I would think if it WERE Rogue/Suspect it would have been added by now.

True, but the program could have changed since Eric tested it.

I sent an email to Eric after posting my first message here, I'll have to wait and see if I get a response from him or if he takes any action.

I have been waiting for some kind of positive answer from Castle Cops for over a month. The reply I got told me no more than I already found out on my own.

I received a prompt response from Eric at SpywareWarrior about Disspy.

    Ed:

I really don't see a porblem here. BitDefender flagged the file as
"suspicious" based on heuristics, which are notorious for false positives.
Moreover, it flagged it as a trojan downloader -- meaning, the file in
question is probably used for the auto-update mechanism of the program.

Unelss there is verified malicious behavior associated with the file or the
program itself, I wouldn't pay too much mind to the BitDefender detection.

    Best,

    Eric L. Howes
