    I have very little knowledge about DIVX movies and wondering how I can go about playing them.

    I have 17 Divx Movies (dvd) that they say require a registered DIVX player..... I belive that these are the kind that you "pay per use" Is there software that will allow me to play them (unlock) on my PC? or are they...junk?

    I don't think so they have DRM in those movie.....

    DRM= Digital right management

    Did you try with the new divx free player 6.5 i think.....at divx.com

    You can go to divx.com and get the free player. Or get a codec pack like K-Lite that will let you play them in WMP. I think the registered player message refers the fact that some home DVD players are capable of playing DIVX formatted movies, only if you have one of these players can you play the movies on your t.v.
