The following dll error message is always showing up at the start of every Windows7 loading on my one year old Dell Studio 5558. For the last seven years' of this problem's existence on my system, none of the much-vaunted ASC-5, ioLo System Mechanic and Uniblue's PowerSuite has been able to track down this problem, let alone fix it. What is the right course to fix this, please.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You did not tell us what error message you are referring too. It may not even be a malware issue. Windows 7 has not been around for seven years so this problem cannot be seven years old. In addition, you just said you only had this PC for one year. Did you mean to say seven months?

I am hugely sorry for annoying you with my, maybe, absent-mindedness. Actually, I came to be aware of this omission having been committed within hours of my post, and I even scanned the post page for a possible "Update"/"Edit" link but none came to my notice. Anyway, here is the full text of the error message as it appears on my PC screen: "Notification dll has not been registered, program will not work correctly".

And yes, I again goofed up about the age of this problem on my system which is actually about seven months.

Thanks for all the concern shown!

Unless the error message tells you which DLL, it is quite difficult to know what is trying to load an unregistered DLL. You will have to look at your Startup process and try to find out which one is causing this problem. This really sounds like an issue for the Software Forum not the Malware Forum. Also searching on that message appears to bring up a lot of links to Dell Computers so it may be a problem with their systems. Possibly something for wireless hardware.

However we will take a quick look at some startup info.

Please run MGtools.exe as requested in the below link and then attach the MGlogs.zip file.
