I have a Dell with XP SP2. when i open any application i get a message that says: "The application or DLL c:\windows\system32\vazipora.dll is not a valid windows image. please check this against your installation diskette" and the exe file im trying to open in the blue bar on the top of the box

When I start up the computer I get about 30 of these with the exe file on the top and the same error msg - i am assuming this is as windows starts each program up.

I have scanned with spysweeper and avg for viruses and spyware, and used reg cure thinking it was a DLL issue, all with no luck. also scanned with search and destroy.

Can someone please give me an idea on what to do?

Re: DLL Help - now help with a Trojan

So if it is a Trojan (kinda figured it was) how come my anti virus software can't pick it up? Search and Destroy and AVG both missed it. How do I remove it

I'm not a malware guy, but I've had vundo 2 times in 3 months. and once last year.
Each time I was using a different (paid and free) anti virus and it was up to date. Malware disguises itself in ways that your software cannot detect.
Thats why the below listed link is here and ready to assist

Just do what you can of it and skip anything you can't do successfully. Create a thread in the malware forum at this point if you want help and direct all your questions at whoever takes your thread on. Please do be patient as you wait for a response because we work the threads on an oldest to newest basis and there is a queue. But rest assured somebody will get to you.

    Best of luck

Yes, this is a malware related message. As suggested above, follow the steps in the Major Geeks Malware Removal Guide (the famous READ ME FIRST guide) as best as possible. You can also try booting in safe mode and manually deleting the offending file, but that only removes the one DLL and not the 'parent' malware process. I have had to deal with very similar problems, and from what I remember, running ComboFix was the final step that actually got rid of the "not a valid image" error message. If you have continued problems, start a new thread in the Malware Removal forum and the experts over there will help you straighten it out.
    Good luck! :-D
