DLL not found

    Hello!
    I have been trying to open pictures in my email and i keep getting this error....
    This application has failed to start because libglib-2.0-0.dll was not found.
    Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
    I have no ideal how this dll got lost, or how to reinstall it. :confused: Dose anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

    This file is used by several programs.

    Do you have Wordperfect installed?

    --Reinstall it.

    Abiword?

    --Reinstall it.

    Image viewer installed?

    --Reinstall it.

    I use outlook express to view my email.
    I don't have Wordperfect installed,Abiword or Image viewer installed

    You must have something installed that uses this file. And its not OE.

    The file is not provided by MS.

    Go to Add/Remove Programs and post the list of apps you have installed :)

    I have this file on my computer, but its useless to you unless we find out what third party app is using it.

    Otherwise, we have no idea where to place it on your computer.

    No, mine is under:

    C:\Program Files\AbiSuite2\AbiWord\bin

    Gimp the graphics package also uses this DLL... but as Adryn said we would need to know what apps you have installed to trace which is the offending app.


    curious thought but would installing another app ( like the ones posted earlier ) that uses that DLL fix the issue?

    i had Gimp & i removed it...and come to think about it i start having the trouble after i removed that program. So is there a way I can fix it now that I think that program is the reason.

    What kind of picture is it?

    You will need to change the file association for it.

    My Computer >tools >Folder Options >File Types.

    what method did you use to uninstall Gimp...... did you just delete the folder it was in or use the Add/Remove uninstaller for gimp?


    I'm thinking you have or had a corrupt install of Gimp, I would be tempted to download it again install it and then uninstall it once uninstalled delete whatever folder Gimp used in the C:\Program Files\ folder.

    then use this program to locate and remove any registry entries pertaining to Gimp
