    In case others don't understand...

There are .dll files that when you view their properties, there is a tab that says something like "Version". DeepaPraba is trying to get that information.

I figured I would post that since I can't help.

sorry but I am not sure I understand your question.

you want to find version information of a not .net dll that doesn't expose version information in its headers?

You have to use reflection to do that from a C# program, reflection is kind of an advanced programming topic and you need to be familiar with the System.Reflection namespace and also with object oriented concepts (that are the base of the reflection namespace). I can help you with that but you need to have some good background on C#.

That is if you want to have an application that would find version information of any dll. If you are just looking for a particular one, you can just use an utility that would do that

try this site http://www.sysinternals.com/ , they have a number of freeware utitilities that are pretty interesting, there is one call proceexp.exe that will give you info about .dlls running on your system.

You can also try to find the version number in the registry.
