I hope this is the right forum for this. I have a hostname that cannot be seen on the network. Problems arose in Windows DNS when the same IP was accidentally assigned to two different host names. I removed the old host name, but now the new host is unpingable (both by hostname and IP). Any hep is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you in a domain? I usually just remove the system from the domain and then rejoin it to the domain after the IP and Host Name are corrected.

Thanks...I guess this would require deleting it from DNS, then letting it register with DNS again. Would this have any effect on Active Directory?
