    Hi!

I have this thing going on with electronics (cell phones and computers).

Is it possible that someones energy can make computers and/or cell phones not run correctly?

It's kind of weird that I went through six Alienware laptops (Alienware decided to just reimburse me in the end), and five cell phones. My computer at work is having memory problems. My computer at my previous job was running weird. My friend brought her computer over the other night which was running pretty good, until I went on to it. My latest computer benchmarks low with five of the Futuremark benchmark programs.

I do not do anything unusual to any computer, and have no clue how to do anything to a cell phone (Samsung Galaxy S and the Exhibit series) besides use it as a phone and play with apps.

Anyhow, has anyone ever heard of people who just have this thing going on to where they just should not be near a computer??

Like I said before, I do not go and overclock any system, do not mess with the regedit or anything else that would screw a computer up.

Thanks to all of you who answer this post!

    Regards,
    Mike

Greetings, jZildjianZj, and welcome to MajorGeeks...

Maybe if you wear a tin foil hat all of that negative energy will be shielded and you can safely use a computer and/or cell phone...

    Good luck! :major

    Hey, not so fast Caliban!

I can remember several periods in my life where everything seemed to break at the same time and I wondered exactly the same thing. Mine weren't all computers but everything I touched seem to break during a period of a few weeks and then it disappeared. Sort of like the "Trouble comes in threes" but always with electronic equipment/cars/mechanical and not necessarily related to easily diagnosed power surge or such. It really did seem to be emanating from me as it was just too much at one time and just kept piling on.

I'm curious if anyone else responds. :)

Well, this has been going on for about three years now! It's a little annoying!
Ya know, it is a good thing that I have always bought the extended warranty (especially for the Alienware Craptops).

I actually have heard something about this kind of thing before. It's familiar to me, but that is all I know of it....I've only heard of people who are enemies with electronics.

    Good morning...

Was just trying to be funny, facetious - pick your poison...

Physically, I can see where there may be some of us who emit more electricity or are more magnetic or are colder or warmer than others - all of which could affect the operation of electronics...I guess. :confused

A quick fix (at least in the case of electrical emissions) could be the use of the classic anti-static grounded strap. Might help. Then again, the tin-foil hat might work, too...

Tell you what, Mike: the next time you grab an Alienware M18 and have problems with it, send it to me - I'll test it for a couple of years, let you know how things work out.

    ;)

If the 6 were all the same model, it could be a hardware problem with that model.

If I were you, I'd probably wear an anti static band all the time just to see if things improve.

No. There is most definitely a proven psychological 'force' that an make things appear this way.

For a lot of people believing in an imaginary force that breaks everything they touch is easier on the ego than admitting it's their fault, also the more complex a system becomes and the improbable the situation is the more inclined we are to resort to superstition and the infinitely improbable.
