The sata hard drive died, i need to replace it and install xp.

the mobo is intel 925x express on dell system, here's the specs
    ftp://download.intel.com/design/chipsets/datashts/30146403.pdf

says its has 4 sata ports - does it mean the sata driver is already on the mobo?

where is it supposed to be installed to? the mobo or the hard drive?

checked dell, if i need the driver, is Intel Application Accelerator RAID Edition the sata driver i need to put on a floppy?

If the drive that was removed was SATA, just plug in another SATA drive and run with it.

If you boot the XP CD and it fails to install - no disk drives are found then..

It looks like you need the SATA driver. Download the driver (usually there is a XP boot driver) and Dell usually give you a self extracting exe. Run it and put the drive on a floppy. During the XP CD install you'll see "hit f6 to install SCSI drivers" hit it. Later you'll be prompted for the driver.

No floppy? Go and download RVM Integrator and make an XP disk with the driver already installed.

The Dell model plz, if you need more help.
