Do I Need To Take Out The Installer Software From ....

...WD external 1TB hard drive befoe I plug it into my smart tv? It wont' try to do anything,will it? Just want to make sure.

 

You should copy the software to a PC before using with a TV as the device may have its own file format to record TV shows so will possibly format the drive & could remove the included software.
No it’ll not try to install as you’d need to manually run the setup.

 

Hi, I'm not recording , just copying mp4 from computer to the drive. Or is that what you meant? If it doesn't affect the TV, I'll just leave it in there.

 

If it’s just for playback then it should be fine.
Many TVs can use external hard drives for recording shows, so thought that’s what you were referring to.
