Do I really need to keep these languages?

I'm always after ways to delete files that I consider I don't really need.

Languages other than English (LOTE) I don't need. Poor programming results in lots of languages being dumped on your hard drtive. All theprogrammers would have to ask is if you want all languages, or just English (or whatever your primary language is).

See thumbnails for lots of *.lng (languages) installed on my laptop.
Do a *.lng search for yourselves, but the MS search may not come back with anything.
I use Cathy at http://www.majorgeeks.com/Cathy_d5874.html for searching XP or Vista. It leaves them both for dead in speed and results found.
Only thing against it is that you have to manually refresh the indexes, manually, every so often.

I want to delete all languages but English. I can copy them to a USB drive or CD or DVD in case I might need them, but don't think I ever will.

One thumbnail is in Alphabetical sequence. The other is in descending size of files. Any suggestions, for or against, this idea of mine?

I'd hardly call some of them "tiny ancillary files". See thumbnail in descending size. My laptop has only a 60 gig hard drive, not like 300-->1 terabyte drives that some desktops have. Some laptops have up to 320 gigs nowadaya. Even so I like to get rid of files I don't need. Makes for faster backups, defrags, etc.

I have deleted other language files in the past (not with *.lng suffix) and had no effect on running the programs concerned IIRC.
