Do I want faster timings or more bandwidth on my ram?

    I have a gig of http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_el_ddr_pc_3200_platinum_revision_2
that puppy; im confused as to what do I want to increase overall performance on my system. As i understand bandwidth hoggers (ie CSS/HL2) prefer more bandwidth over more speed. Also i understand that this ram can easily achieve speeds of DDR500. So what am i looking for? My sys setup is as follows

    500W xconnect ultra
    a64 3200+ (soon to be oc'd)
    1gb of el ddr pc3200 plat rev2
    sb aud2
    6800GT OC 256mb by bfg
MSI Neo plat 2 with bios 1.3
    36gb raptor
    200gb wd sata 7200rpm
    cdrw + dvdrw

Also if bandwidth is the answer anyone have a guide on how to do it for the neo2 mobo?

    Thanks.

All RAM manufacturers sugar-coat their products and talk about features that sound logical to give you a hella performance boost but in reality give you a minimal boost that doesn't even justify the $$$ you drop on it.
I think your system is sweet as is, if anything I would upgrade to a 74GB Raptor which has much robust features than the 36GB version (many thinks th only difference is the size). But at the very least, I am not sure why you have the additional 200GB drive, quite different than the raptor so I don't believe you would be able to setup a RAID-0 to gain performance, additionally the second drive hogging the system and power resources would only hinder your overall system performance....but may be not too much....
Anyhow, I think your system is just fine and by simply paying another $200 or even $100 for the RAM upgrade I doubt you will get your money's worth but your call.

huh? theres no sugar coating here; they are hands down the best ram 300$ gets you. no im not buying more of it or another hard drive since that is not my post concerns. Anything RAID0/1 sucks and isnt worth the effort; the amount of failure you get from it is just to high to call it "performance gain".

If you are that certain that they are the best, I am assuming you used the same exact system with various comparable RAM brands and benchmarked it or you work for OCZ ;)

Jokes aside, all I was trying to say was after a certain point it is all for show my friend and the performance gain so the speak is not worth the $$ you spent for it. Also know this Brand A will sell you a certain type of RAM for $100, brand be would take the same exact RAM o/c by 15% and also o/c the price and sell you for $115 claiming it is a high performance type! It gets worse, brand C will by similar type RAM that is 15% slower than brand A and sell you that for $100 claiming it is a 'real' brand A type.....I hate to say it but those heatplate they glue onto RAMs have become nothing more than an instrument for some distributers to cover their rather illegit business/marketing practice.

As far as RAID-0 sucking...the performance gain has been documented and confirmed, wonder if you're doing something wrong or using crappy components? But I kinda do agree for 90% of the everyday task the gain from RAID-0 would not be significant enough to cough up the extra $$ for it.

All that Turcoloco said is true I know from experance and raid 0 is definitely not slow
