Do MICROSOFT hijack browsers???!!!

Hello Geeks!
Although I have chosen a clean site in my browser as default, and although I use Norton Security 2004 - Firewall and stuff, very often I am linked to Microsoft.com at restart.
ny idea how that comes???

Maybe...you are clicking on Use Default instead of Use Current in IE Options?

MS doesn't hijack.

Different MS apps will reset your homepage, however.

No, of course NOT, I have set "use clean" as default!
But the next time I get on the web, again I am linked to http://miscrosoft.com/hfhfhllnlknlkwhatsoever
It happens by "itself"
Seem like a ghost in the machine.

Is it the Windows Update site? By design IE will take you there occasionally.

MS really wants us to update regularly

 

If you use an about blank setting then scan with and fix with adaware it will reset you page to msn

Might I suggest that you RT click on IE icon on the desktop and click on properties to see what your setup is or go to set program access and defaults in the start menu.

We've had instances where micrsoft would redirect the default page to the updates page, which we block (We have our own patching plan) When this fails, sometimes the default page is lost.

 

I had the same problem and this helped me.
I no longer have msn.com cutting in
