Do you believe in Aliens?

Well once again i cant sleep. Maybe sleeping in to 1pm did it. lol

So the question is do you believe in Aliens, Ufos, government Conspiracies, X-files? Lay it on me. lol

Please share any opinions, beliefs, situations, and experiences. I would love to hear them.

Of course I believe in Aliens. It stands to reason that if life developed here, that it would in other places in the universe, too. UFO's? That's something that's sort of a catch-all label, don't you think? A new type of plane could be a UFO. As long as you don't know what it is, and it's flying, it's technically a UFO.
As for conspiracies... I'm sure they happen all the time.
I personally think that if we've been visited by races from other planets, they went home bored. All the stories and movies about aliens coming to Earth in order to subjugate, steal or to perpetrate genetic genocide is sort of ridiculous. They make very good fiction, but i doubt they would expend the vast amounts of time and energy it would take to come here and blow us all to hell and back. Then again, if they posess the technology and means to travel so far a distance in a reasonable amount of time, then who's to say that their motivations aren't as incomprehensible as their said technology?

 

I slept in till 1pm too & for the record, no I don't believe in aliens or ufos. But, if one did believe in gov't conspiracies, wouldn't that mean it would be unknown to us if aliens or ufos even exist (because of cover-ups?). Things that make you go "hmmm." X-Files was a great show, I watched it when it first started airing, but then lost interest after a three or four years...LOL

 

I forgot to also mention that we usually think of Aliens in generic terms, personifying a bipedal or quadrupedal creature that we've never seen before. I think that if and or when we do encounter alien life, it'll be on a cellular level. It'll probably give us one hell of a case of the flu, too.

 

Thanks for telling me what you think! Here is what happened to me and my mom:

5 years ago. My mom was in bed, she couldnt sleep so she was just laying there. She started to hear a low humming. At first she thought nothing of it. she thought it was just another train rolling by. She said the sound started to get louder and louder over a period of 10min. Then out of no where there was this blinding whitish blue light. Kinda like the Super white HID headlights. It lit up the whole room and she could not see anything! This humming noise that started out really low was now so loud she had to hold her ears because they where hurting. Right away she was on the floor under the bed. She never looked towards the window, and never opened her eyes to see if there was anything in the room or out side. She then said suddenly the light disapeered, and the sound stoped. It just vanished. She was too freaked to move and spent the rest of the night under the bed clinching a support 2x4. My dad, brother, and my self where out camping so we where not home to wittness this event. when we came home we found her crying on the couch, and couldnt get it out of her what happened for almost a week. At first i thought she just had a really bad dream, but later in the winter, we where putting up lights for the holidays. My dad and i noticed burns on the siding and the singles out side the hudge 3 windows on the noth side of the room. At that point i was sure she was telling the truth. Then this happened:

3 years later, At out new house. (no we did not move because of her experience, neighboorhood got bad) I was laying in bed. Again no one was home. Dad and bro where out, and my mom was out with my grandma. It was around 11pm, maybe a little before that. I started to hear this sound. It was like nothing ive ever heard. I really cant describe it. Just like my mom i thought nothing of it. Probley a plane fllying over or a car or something. I noticed the sound started to get louder, and a light started to grow out side my window. I freaked out right away and go up and ran for the door. When i reached the door i opened it and a super white light came in through the window. It blinded me and i fell while running out of the room. What was the scarest was that everything was shaking, and i could not see or hear, but i felt the house shaking! Once i got down stairs the sound stoped and the light was gone. I called the non emergency number for our police dept. They said they had reports of a light and that they where looking into it. I then proceded to get my rifle from my garage. When it comes to stuff like this..im really chicken shit..lmfao...My family came home and i spent the rest of the night up. A day later the police called and said that the lake county sherifs department was looking for an escaped criminal from a cruser accident, and they had there chopper out. Funny thing...choppers are not that loud...not that bright...and wouldnt hover out side my window for 2 - 3 mins. Also we checked with newpapers, and news channels, and a firend we have at the police dept..All said there where no reports of any accident and an escaped criminal. The shrefifs dept said other wise.

This is why i believe 110% of aliens, and there space craft and such. I started to watch xfiles after this happened, to see if there was anything that was close to what i experienced.

X-files is great btw....i cant belive there gone.

I can't believe that star and his band of merry men made up all the neat things we get to do and play with....somebody got a tap on the shoulder to try something never done, before....i remember a few years ago, with CPU chip. paint a coat of white paint, on the back, and keep the temperature lower.......could have come from aliens....

Statistically I think it's impossibe that there are no other life forms in the universe.
I also think it would be incredibly arrogant to imagine that to be the case, unless it falls under one's religious beliefs.

I loved the X-Files too (where's the second movie?)

I can't believe any of them have ever visited us though.

Do I believe Extraterrestrial life exists elsewhere in the Universe? As Mr. Pewty just said, that is pretty much 100% probability.

But do I believe "aliens" as such have ever visited the Earth? Well it's possible, but the evidence is insufficient and inconclusive. Do I believe aliens are still present on the Earth? Probably not, but if they are, they sure as Hell aren't in a hurry to tell us about it.

An unexplained phenomena, is precisely that - unexplained. It could be aliens - it could be a million other more likely things too.

I believe in other life out there. My father came home late one night. We were wondering where he was. He said he was driving home and he and about 5 others stopped their cars off of rte6 going into Mahopac NY and had the experience of a lifetime. As said by my father, "this thing was gigantic. It covered nearly the entire size of the reservoir and you could see the metal shapes on the bottom of it. It didn't make a sound and after about 20 minutes, it just slowly moved off." This sighthing was recorded in a book of sightings. There apparently were quite a few others that noticed this too ; consider my fathers description of the size of the craft and the fact that the west branch reservoir is rather large.

 

i head the second movie is susposed to be out in 2008! I guess there still writing it! Its ok just take your time guys.

Saying 'do you believe in aliens?' is rather like saying 'do you believe in the moon?' in my opinion...

I think HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy is conclusive enough evidence for me that other life-filled planets etc. exist.

I never saw the X-files movie... I was addicted to the series though.

 

i believe it all. if only one person in all the thousands is telling the truth about ufo's or alien abductions, than one is all it takes. we have wierd things happen on a road accross our island. (Saddle road, for those familier with it). we also have a large military installation there for no good purpose. we also have the worlds best and largest telescopes on that very mountain. i have seen that military base light up in the middle of the night like theres no tomorrow, (very reminicient of that film) without any reports of military activity in the area.

I totally agree with the statement that it would be completely arrogant of us to think that we are the only "life forms" in this universe. Do I believe that they are little grey guys with huge black eyes? Who knows could be.

I've seen things that I couldn't explain, but I know I seen it. Was it Aliens? Again who knows for sure.

As far as government Conspiracies? Just look at the JFK Assasination & you can clearly see that our government covers up many things as well as other nations governments do I'm sure.

I certainly believe that there is other life forms, or beings, "out there". I also believe that there is a possibility that the Earth has been visited.

To accomplish this, IMHO, they would have to be a race that has known peace and global community for eons. I find it interesting that we talk of how advanced we are these days when in reality we are still quite primitive in comparison. I think that if we have been visited they would have no interest in exposing themselves to us. They would see us a race of barbarians, crude and uncivilized people without a sense of global community. I know if it were me visiting I would probably check back in in a few eons to see how we were doing...if we are still doing.
