Do you know ways to shorten boot up time?

Set in Bios the 1st boot device to be the main HDD and remove all other boot options, this way it may slice a second or so off your boot times, due to not having to look for optical drives and floppy.

Does that mean that your Cd won't boot? Or that window will start it instead? I have removed floppy from mine, since I don't have one.

I notice that the more RAM you have, the longer it takes to boot from hibernation. Would faster RAM boot up your PC faster from hibernation? What about underclocking? I read that maximizes the use of your RAM b/c clock cycles are not wasted.

Hi

Yes it means your CD wont boot to a disk, but their is not many times you need to boot to a CD/DVD, unless your re-installing the OS, booting to a Linux live CD or to a Data Recovery/Imaging software boot CD. If you need to do one of those options then re-enter the Bios and an boot to CDROM needs to be the 1st boot device.

Well faster Ram, CPu and a faster HD, help in a quick booting PC, Hibernation on XP I never liked as it was slow as a snail for me, so never used it, Vista is different and recovers from Hibernation quicker, but I still have no need for it.

Hibernation on my pc is about 30 sec. quicker than a regular boot.
