I never use hibernate. I will research moving pagefile to a HDD . I have system restore disabled. I have NEVER has system restore fix ANY problem I have ever had. I do have CCLEANER installed on the 40gig SSD c: drive. I cannot get Ccleaner to work on my other two other HDD's . I tried in the Ccleaner settings to allow it to clean my D and F drives, but it will not allow it .
I have done a good bit of research on SSD optimization, yet haven't heard anything about moving pagefile. I did run an auto-optimization tool for SSD's (by OCZ). I have 8gigs RAM, do you think I need to move pagefile ?

Hi Moved your question to its own thread as the other is on updates.

As to your question, I used SSDs and do have the pagefile moved to a SATA drive, but I do have a small fixed pagefile left on the C drive (SSD) of 100 min and 100 max MB and have a system managed one on the D drive (SATA)

System restore disabled is good as SSDs are less prone to HW issues and corruption, but I would employ a backup option for any software or malware issues you may or may not get, I use Acronis True Image, but others like Easeus ToDo and Macrium Reflect are free and good.

as for CCleaner does it give you any errors on the other drives? try a reinstall of latest version.

I also have 8 gigs RAM and that's what my pagefile is, besides MS recommends 12 gigs, the usual RAM size X1.5 which I think is unnecessary. Let's hope somebody who knows this stuff can chime in here.;) I included what my pagefile looks like.

I have only 71mb free on system partition, I just set pagefile to D drive, and system managed size. I doubt if I'll see any performance difference based on what ive read in the short research ive done, is moving the pagefile a suggestion based on the "limited" write cycles for SSD's ? I've read many times that the "limitation" on writes to an SSD are pretty much inconsequential due to the fact that so many writes can be done, that it would be a LONG time before any failure occurs, and even then only a small sector of the SSD would become unusable ...

I'm just talking about space here. With 8GB of RAM I doubt you'd notice any real life difference in speed/response.

Right, do you think the change I made is enough or should I maintain a second, smaller PF on the SSD as I see some other people, like DavidGP, doing ?

When I try to configure Ccleaner to also clean my D or F drives, i get an error message saying "For system safety reasons you cannot select this specific location"

Yike, noticed after the change, the normally blue storage/capacity line displayed underneath my C: SSD was red and indicated less than 4gigs free.
Did a cleanup with Ccleaner and ASC 4 . Went thourgh program files, noticed that somehow I had managed to install Winamp on my little 40gig SSD NONONOONONON!
Uninstalled Winamp and reinstalled on F: where i have tons of space, I also use milkdrop expansion packs (amazing graphics visualizer with my HD6970) so that's got me back into the blue and outta the red.
I guess I could move Firefox onto my F: as well, I dont REALLY need it on my SSD. I imagine it's using a bit of space what with temp files and web cache and such ?
    I like firefox appearing instantly when I click the icon, though . . . . Opinions ?
