    Hi Friends

I recently upgraded to Vista. One of the things I found helpful in XP was the ability to use a document preview view in folders. If I was looking for a Word.doc I could look at the miniature of the document and decide if that was the one or not without having to fully open each file.

In Vista I have been unable to do this. I only get thumbnails of my photographs and scanned documents. Apparently this function does exist in Vista. I have checked out "folder options" and everything seems fine there.

If anyone knows what might be causing this I would be grateful for a tip.

    Thanks.

    Dave;)

    1/ Open Windows Explorer

    2/ Click the Organize button

3/ From the drop down menu click Layout

4/ From the Layout Menu click the 'Preview Pane' option

5/ Finally highlight a document you want to view and, after a few seconds, a preview of that document should appear in the preview pane.

    Hi Steve

You're a genius! I don't know why, but I searched MS Vista online and couldn't find that bit anywhere. Very different from the way it was handled in XP. Hmm, I wonder what else I don't know about!

    Anyway, piece of cake now.

    Many thanks!

    Dave :)
