documents folder erased mysteriously

    Hi! I'm a newbie on computers. I have an HP 18"laptop Dv9000 with Vista Ultimate. I opened the documents and I had a lot of programs etc in it before but now it is blank. I don't know if deleted them,I don't know how I could, or is it a virus? Should I use the restore point feature (never have done this before) I have Norton antivirus and it showed no problems I also scanned with Spybot and adware by Lava. All came up "ok". I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen. Thanx! for a
