dod:s freezes

i'll play dods for a random amount of time and it will just freeze,even when changing maps or joining a server. I thot its hardware but windows doesnt crash or lock up. Is there anyway i can review the console process so i can figure out the problem? or can anyone help???

my pc specs

P4 Northwood 2.66ghz @ 3.0ghz
Asus P4P800S motherboard
1 gig of PC3200 value ram (god knows who made it) timing at 3-4-4-8
ATI Radeon X800xl agp @ 432/525 stock cooling with tweaked fan speed
