Dodgy updates?

Trying to fix my Dad's pc. Installed the automatic windows updates, restarted the computer and now IE7 doesn't display any pages despite it being connected to the home network.

Anyone heard anything similar before?

Any ideas how I can keep my updates and get back using IE7? (it's same for firefox too)

I tried removing the updates i just installed and still, no web pages being displayed despite the computer being connected to the network.

its been a fairly common issue with the ie7 upgrade. remove it.
