Does a router has WAN IP and LAN IP....

Doea a router has a WAN IP and LAN IP....HOw to differentiate between them...If there are many routers connected widely, how to ping all the routers simultaneously.........

yes, routers have an external (WAN) and internal(LAN) IP. internal IP are:
Class A 10.0.0.0
Class B 172.16.0.0
Class C 192.168.0.0

External is everything else pretty much..

Do you know all the routers IP addresses? You could write up a script in batch.

 

Routers, depending on how they are used, will have one address on the WAN side and one address on the LAN side. If NAT'ing is not used then a non-private IP address will usually be used on the LAN side.

You may not be able to ping ANY of the addresses because the router can be set up to ignore ping requests.

I dont know about java. Id use batch if anything. Yes, you should be able to ping other routers..
