does anybody use B.A.S.I.C?

i got a new game programming for teens book and it uses basic i wanted to no if anyone else uses it or has any tips?

 

are you refering to the language as just basic because If i'm correct thats pretty old school and I doubt anyone uses it anymore. I've used Visual Basic 6 for a while. Its pretty easy to learn but its not the most powerfull language out there. You'd be better off learning something newer such as C# or if you prefer older languages C/C++. Much more powerfull languages and im sure basic is pretty obsolete.

BASIC is not really used anymore although it still exists and would be a fine learning language for procedural programming

If you are looking for a learning language I would say C then C++ first but it all just comes down to preference. Java and the .net languages are the most popular for application programming and jobs currently and of course there is a ton of unix scripting stuff to learn that can land some good jobs.
