Does anyone know of a good (how-to) guide for fixing xbox360?

I have taken apart my xbox 360 and was wondering if they had any black market how-to guides on how to take apart and find out what is causing the ring of death, and then how to fix it if it is even worth the money?

 

If it's less than 3 years old Microsoft will fix it for you. In the UK you have to drop off at a ups depot, and it is sent to MS, they fix it and send back to your home address. Although the fact you have opened it voids this i think, so if it's over 3 years old, or they won't accept as you have opened it, then have a look at youtube, there are loads of meathod's on there. If you're DIY'ing it's a bit of soldering etc so it shouldn't cost too much if you can borrow the tools needed.

 

I have soldering tools, and various computer(small) tools for this. It's nice when you buy them, cause you have them and can use them on future projects.

 

The standard warranty is for 1 year. The only red ring that is covered by an extended 3 year warranty is a 3 quadrant ring.

 

These are the links that are the ones that helped me. Turns out all that was wrong was some loose wires. I unplugged and replugged all the wires and then put it back together. So now I have it working.

Google is full of RROD info and 'fixes', but if he already opened the case and broke the seal Microsoft will not touch it.
