I don't know if you have already tried this, but THIS was all I could find.

P.S Have you tried to completely remove and reinstall it?

    cmozaeko,

You had a similar problem with an earlier version (2002) I think. What happened with that?

Could be a conflict with files or information from an earlier version, when you uninstall versacheck, do a search and make sure there are not any left-over files, and then try to install 2005.

If you bought this program, your first call should be the company.

They should know their products and issues better than anyone.

    Have you tried contacting them?

I agree, and if they have no solution, you could try uninstalling it all, run RegScrubXP , and CCleaner reboot and try the install again.

    They have to be kidding!

Personally, I wouldn't wear that. They have an obligation to provide software that works, and if they can't do that then you have rights.

Anyway, assuming you have tried completely uninstalling all remnants of any previous versions and reinstalled it, then go to the program files folder, right-click on it's executable, select Properties, then Compatibility Mode.

Try different combinations and see if that works.

Also, try checking the Event Log and System Information for any more details.

There really isn't much more I can add.

If you have completely removed any previous remnants and installed it and it still won't start, even in Safe Mode, then everything points to buggy software and/or poorly written code.

Unless someone else has experienced this or knows the solution, then I am out of ideas for now without having it here in front of me.

Event Log is in Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer.

Click on Application and System. You can double-click on any relevant errors listed on the right-hand side.

System Information is under Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools.

Under Software Environment, check "Windows Error Reporting" for any relevant listings.

Also, try Dr Watson for some more info.

Go to Start, Run and type in drwtsn32 then O.K.

Look for the relevant listing then highlight it and click View.
