does anyone know where to find a recovery disc for XP

i have a desktop that crashed on me and i think the only way to fix it is with a recovery disk. does anyone know where i can find one online???

 

Might also look for Hiren's boot CD, great set of tools on a live XP set.

could be, but then again probably not, if you install it, and since its a live cd you install nothing. However I have to agree that if there is something available here at MG then that's the way to go. Wikipedia articles can be written by anyone and a long way from true legal advice.

 

I agree a Wiki shouldn't be taken as fact all of the time but the second tool listed at http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd is Acronis Disk Director.

He didn't get permission from any of the vendors to use their tools. Even if he is offering it for free there are still copyrights involved.

 

its a compaq presario. (i know....thats the problem. but cant complain it was free)
