Does "Cathy" work in W7?

I'd like to try "Cathy" in W7.
While I realise that the W7 Search facility is much better in W7, than in previous versions of Windows, Cathy allows cataloguing of CD/dvd's, floppies, USB drives, etc.

HI Bazza

Yes, it works ok by the looks of it, no major issues I could find but I would be tempted as I dont know the level of information you search with this to maybe set its shourtcut up in Properties > Compatabiliy to Run as Administrator if any search strings are not utilised.

But the Windows 7 search is fantastic, it will even search for text, words within certain documents (Office, Notepad etc mainly) you can also setup your own criteria.

But do try testing the apps you like this in Windows 7 yourself, not everyone wishes to be a guineepig and worst case scenario is that the app just doesnt work, so uninstall, highly unlikely many will kill the OS, just set a Restore Point before testing some apps out.

This is the Search facility I also like. I can catalogue (store) info on programs that come with PC Utilities magazine DVD, and other mags I have purchased.

I also have a lot of old hard drives that I would like to store links to what is on them ,as not all info from replaced hard drives makes it to the newest drive. :cry

Hope this explains what I am trying to achieve, outside of the documents on my W7 drive.

hi there guys

I am having issues, trying to auto update catalogs. I following the recommended way of downloading cathycmd and create a cathy.cmd txt file and created a schduled task. When running the task, it runs, but when i open up cathy the catalogs are now up to date. Did I miss something? Anyone got files i could use?
