Does my computer only like Netgear routers??

    Hello,

I recently upgraded to a Linksys Wireless N modem (from a Netgear WirelessG router) and had all kinds of issues with connectivity. Some weird sites (match.com) simply would not work. Connectivity int general was slow are poor. However my wireless devices all connected perfectly to everything through the same router and were very snappy. I tried the router on another PC and it was fine. I also returned the router and tried another (same model) one and it had the same issues.

So I got a Netgear Wireless N router and it worked perfectly.

Fast forward to today... I upgraded to a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem/router combo (Motorola). Now I'm again having the same issues with the computer connected via LAN. The same strange sites won't connect (match.com, rarbg, and others) and the connectivity is poor. Yet, my phone and tablet work perfectly through wireless at the same time via the same modem/router and connect to the same sites instantly...

Once again, reconnecting to the Netgear router and all issues go away...

Does my PC have a hard on for Netgear routers or something???

    Thanks,

    Javaslinger

Have you tried updating the driver for the network card in the PC?
