Does scanner/printer have memory?

Stupid question, I'm sorry, probably not even possible, but thought that I'd ask.

I have an Epson Stylus all in one printer/scanner/photocopier http://www.epson.ca/cgi-bin/ceStore...V_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=58606&infoType=Overview
I photocopied a document containing 3 pages. However, I didn't make enough photocopies and don't have them any more. I need to get another copy, not incredibly important, but would be beneficial for me to have this in my filing cabinet as a backup. But, since photocopying them, I have printed off about 50 pages due to income tax papers for myself and others.

Is there any possible way to get these 3 pieces of paper back that I had photocopied?
    Thank you

No. Those devices do not store documents for any length of time. Printers have a buffer; a temporary storage area, so when you print something, all the stuff you want to print is sent directly to the printer and is stored there until it prints. That way you can keep using the PC without having to wait for the print job to finish. But as far as retrieving a photocopy? Nope. Not even 5 seconds later; they simply are not stored in any type of memory other than a snapshot that is erased immediately after the documents print. I've seen all-in-one units with USB ports; maybe you can stick a thumb drive in there and configure the all-in-one to send a 2nd copy to the thumb drive for later use. But I'm not sure, it's a good idea tho' ;)

That is not true in ALL cases...the key is Fax / Scanner capability....

In order for the machine to store the image to Fax / send digitally, in most cases it ends up on some sort of storage.

I'm not saying yours does, I'm just saying you need to be aware of it.

A lot of security guys will install their "tools" on a printer HDD because people don't "scan" them for viruses, nor do they have antivirus installed on them.

While you can't recover documents to reprint, you should crack open a printer before disposing of and destroy any HDD that may exist.
