I hope this is the right place for this thread. I just got a deal on a SmartDisk external ethernet HD 160GB. It has a USB port and an Ethernet port. The manual I found on it has instructions for windows os only and describes a registration number that has to be entered to access it. It also includes a cd utility (for windows). I have not received it yet and I was wondering if I would be able to access this storage with my SuSe machine. Is anyone familiar with this? I use windows on my laptop but i would hate to think i could only access it from there. If anyone has info about this it would be appreciated.

The reason im uncertain is because the manul I found online mentions a registration that must be entered To access it that is supposed to be found on the bottom of the hd and a cd utility that is for windows os. I want to just be able to plug this thing into my router and access from any computer on my lan regardless of os
