    I assume I am running a P4 2.8GHz @ 800MHz FSB? using PC-3200 memory?

Also, it come back saying I have DX 9b, yet I have 9c installed....

    So Im using incorrect memory?

Arent northwoods 400MHz FSB? Am I unknowingly overclocking?

    G.T. R.I.P February 4, 2007. You will be missed.

It's not likely that your overclocking your memory. Modern motherboards allow setting the ram timing separately from the CPU. You're not running the optimum ram, which would be 400 Mhz same as your CPU, but it should run fine the way it is.

FSB varies by about ~1-2Mhz during normal usage, so thats not a problem

If your motherboard set everything up, its likley it automatically set up a different memory/cpu ratio (i.e. it wont be 1:1) and so the memory is running a different speed to the CPU. Not a problem, but it creates a bottleneck in the memory (the CPU is trying to use more bandwidth than the memory has available), which will reduce your performance.

    But its not a problem.

PC3200 would be optimum for that setup (even better, a rambus!)

So infact I have the best P4 processor, or atleast one of them, so it does do 800FSB?

So really, when I upgrade my videocard next month, I should grab a new PC-3200 memory stick and replace my old one eh?
