can you help with telling me how to upgrade online from windows me to something newer is it a free download will i lose all my saved info?

To update to a later operating system, your next step from ME, is to XP.
You will need to purchase a copy of XP from somewhere like aria.co.uk
-I find them very reasonable, or newegg.com,
Unfortunately, you can only update your present operating system (ME) on-line with the relevent fixes provided by Microsoft, from Microsoft update.
If you update to XP, then you can save some files/settings from ME, but you would need to come back for more help on that when you have Xp, and before you install it.
