Since resetting Windows 8.1, AdwCleaner finds two items which it says are in C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\UserData\Default\Web Data
Before cleaning, I looked for the AppData folder but it isn't in the list of files under my user name. Application Data is.

Before I reset the operating system, both Application Data and AppData were listed.

Why can't I see it now?

    AdwCleaner's log file is attached.

It is in your hidden files and if you have not opted to show them, they won't come up:

Easiest is to just go to your metro screen and start typing 'Hidden files'. You should see your search pop up and you should have the option to click on 'Show Hidden files and folders'. Make sure you click on the option to show them.

I had been used to showing all folders in XP, but chose to hide the normally hidden ones in Win8 because otherwise my User folder gets shows many Userdat files. Most infuriating.

    Thank you.

Even if the folder is hidden you should likely be able to open it.
Either type %appdata% into the search box and hit enter or type %appdata% into the address bar of an explorer window and hit enter.

I currently don't have access to a Win8.1 machine to do some tests but I remember that "Application Data" is nothing but a junction that points to "AppData\Roaming". This junction only exists for compatibility reasons with previous Windows versions.

Easiest way to access that folder is to type %appdata% into the address bar of File Explorer. No need to change Hidden Files setting or anything like that.

If you want to be able to see the junctions in Explorer (Application Data, Documents and Settings etc) that GermanOne is referring to, make sure that you are showing hidden files and folders as well as protected operating system files.
