 Hello there, I`m new here !!!

I have recently downloaded Adaware and BHODemon - BUT

    I don't understand them.

I ran Adaware and it found 117 files that I can only presume were bad - So I deleted them !!
Is this right ? Or have I probably deleted essential files that I should not have deleted ?
I saved the log to file though ???

BHO demon says its found 5 BHO files. What do I do with them ???

Please can some NICE person help me out.

Sorry 2 be a pain - I thought I understood computers until I got The Internet for myself about a month ago. I`m worried I`m gonna cock up my PC.

    Enough babbling.

    Bye 4 now ;) Funkgal76 xx

Hi FunkGal :) Not to worry. Adaware indeed did delete those 117 files and yes, if AdAware said they were bad-- probably they were bad. BUT Adaware also made a backup of all those files for you. If for any reason you should need the files (unlikely) then you will notice when you open up Adaware you will see just above the "check for updates now" line two other lines (all in bold face font). One says "open ignore list" the other says "open quarantine list". If you need any of those files you just deleted, click on "open quarantine list" and restore the files from there. It's as simple as highlighting the file you want, right click, then select "reinstall files"
I'll leave the BHO Demon information for someone who is familiar with that application. I wouldn't worry though, most spyware killers have a back up/restore list handy.

here's a picture of the status screen from Adaware. Note the "Open Quarantine List" line just above the "Check for updates now" line.

No probs FunKGal, I just looked up BHO Demon in the MG apps list and it seems, from this quote--Think of BHODemon as a guardian for your Internet browser: it protects you from unknown Browser Helper Objects (BHOs), by letting you enable/disable them individually -- that you can reenable anything you've disabled if you want to.
    Cheers ;)

PS: Anyone who knows about BHO Demon, maybe you can fill Funk Gal in on its ins and outs.
