After I standby - I have to login (Windows XP). Is there a way I can bypass this? I hate the waiting time.

    Thanks,
    Stephanie

Standby or just resuming after the screen saver? If the latter, change your Screen Saver settings to not require a password on resume.

I don't have a password for screensaver. The login is needed after standby which my laptop does a lot. I know I can change it to standby later - but I like the idea of it cooling down. So if you know how to bypass the user login after standby, let me know :)

Disabling prompt for password after Windows XP resumes from standby or hibernation

    1. Click Start, Settings, and Control Panel
    2. Double click Power Options
    3. Uncheck the "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby" option.
    4. Click Apply and then Ok.
