Doom 3/Win 2kPro conflict??

Hey, Does anyone else out there have any problems running Doom 3 on windows 2000 Pro? Or does anyone have the following problem while playing doom 3:

I play the game and at random intervals throuought the game (usually about 10 min. apart) all of a sudden the game just completely closes on me... everything is gone in a flash and windows is running as if nothing just happened.

I am running on a 128MB ATI AIW Radeon 9600 video card
512 MB RAM
2.1 Ghz AMD Athlon XP Processor

If anyone has any comments or tips... maybe some doom 3 game patches... anything please let me know! TIA!

 

What version is your Doom3 game?

If you're looking for a patch, search around for a Doom3 1.1 patch. When you find it, download it and pop it in, and see what it does for you.

 

Also make sure you are running ATI video drivers higher than 4.9 because the 4.9 Beta driver was a hotfix for compatablility with Doom3.

 

I am checking around now for updates for Doom 3 and then when I get home I'll check which version of drivers I have on my ATI card... as far as what version of Doom 3 I have it's just straight outa the box... so I'll see if I can find that patch

 

Hmmmm still kicks me outa the game with the doom patch and latest ATI drivers.. anyone with any other ideas?
