    I know you can use
    Dir c: > LPT1
to print to a printer on LPT1, ho do you specify a networked printer? or USB?

I googled around, and while there is a way to do this directly, it involves some major acrobatics. The easiest way I have found is to simply redirect the output to filename.txt, and then use notepad to print the text file to the printer (local or networked). I know it's not as direct, but it's really the easiest way without going through some major configuration headaches.

You can also use a program called DOSPrn to print from a DOS prompt under windows. Take a look at http://www.dosprn.com

You could also try to map the printer as a share (it has to be shared), then use a net use command to reference the printer.

for example if the printer is shared as PRNT3 then use something like:

    NET USE LPT1: \\COMPUTER\PRNT3

Then you should be able to output data to it by referencing LPT1
