Not sure if hardware is the best place for this post, but since printers are here, this is where I posted. Okidata doesn't support winxp. Trying to find old okidata XP driver that shows printer status, programs the printer settings etc via LPT. Can do some things using VB6 (yes - VB6) but printer object doesn't present enough methods and properties. Prefer to not use printer menu buttons to set things up. Anyone have any old okidata driver laying around? Alternative might be GUI based LPT controller/programmer. Newer machine & OS is not an option. Machine dedicated to tractor feed form & label printing. Okidata NOT helpful. Seems like they hide from consumers.....

But are you really a customer? I mean that printer came out sometime in the last century!

    Did you look here?

Really. Of course I was at their site, a month ago. As I said, they don't support xp. Got the okidatapros refurbished printer on Newegg a month ago. There had to be xp drivers for printer setup and control at one time.

I didn't see this option at the US okidata site. I will download the drivers and install them in the xp machine. I will let you know how they work. Thank you very much for pointing me to this.

    Let's hold thumbs it works.
Maybe the printer was more popular in Australasia - the same driver is also available on the New Zealand site.

Unfortunately that software was only a set of printer drivers and didn't seem any different than the windows default driver for the ML321. I was hoping to find some version of a printer status/programmer utility like DIPUS. I guess there wasn't one for xp in the past? Looks like I'll be doing some programming and experimenting to set the printer up programmatically on the xp machine. That xp machine is dedicated to label printing tasks (a few thousand labels - electronic components stock), some tractor fed forms, and it already has most of the data from which the labels will be populated. Not insurmountable, I was looking for an easy way out..... Any old label printing software that works with the ML321? That is an alternative I will look into.

    Thanx again.

Thank you for replying. A driver isn't the issue. I was hoping to find a utility that could be used to programmatically set up the ML321 (get to menu commands etc). I assumed DIPUS was capable of that. Eons ago I did a lot of programming. Since it's the XP machine the old programming software is still there..... I'm rusty but I will come up with an acceptable workaround. Thanks again.
